The mammoth Juggernaut Statue is the result of a collaboration of the Shifflett brothers with Randy Bowen. Sculpted in 2005 with a limited run of 2000 pieces, the statue depicts the fearsome Cain Marko (a character particularly related to the mutant world, but that also experienced some epic battles with almost all of the Marvel heroes) in a sort of “headlong charge”, that is a true feature of the giant. The figure exhibits a overdeveloped body: the two bent legs put in evidence the power of the quadriceps, while many grooves carved on shoulders, elbows and the giant fists point out the power of the arms and the dynamism of the pose. Any detail is used to emphasize the devastating fury of the character: the large bands around biceps, forearms and wrists, the curbstone soles of the enormous boots, the beautiful nuances highlighting the abdominal muscles and, above all, the enraged expression we can see across the openings of the typical, metal ovoid mask. The coloring is beautiful, realized by a metallic tonality of a bright brown, very faithful to the tables of Comics, and a more reddish tone on abdomen and boots. Also the base (rather heavy) is very well done and depicts a rocky ground and the remains of a wall, showing that nothing can hold out against the fury of Juggernaut! Generally speaking, the prices of this statue are quite high, although sometimes on ebay (especially in the recent years) it is possible to found some bargain. A bargain that, due to the beauty of the piece, should be taken on the fly!
